The operator must also provide the names of the operator and the charity. The operator must display, in a conspicuous place in the thrift store, a sign containing this information. Prior to any solicitation by an operator for contributions of secondhand goods to be sold in a thrift store, the operator must disclose (i) that the thrift store is a for-profit entity, (ii) whether any profit-sharing agreement exists between the operator and any charity, and (iii) the name of the operator and the charity. This bill provides that violations are subject to the enforcement provisions of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.
