SUMMARY:
Bodily injuries; assault. Includes employees of and volunteers for public, private or governmental firefighting organizations, rescue squads and emergency medical services organizations within the sections authorizing enhanced penalties for malicious bodily injury (Class 3 or Class 6 felony, with minimum, mandatory term of imprisonment) or assault and battery (Class 1 misdemeanor with minimum, mandatory term of six months). Currently these sections apply only to law-enforcement officers.
