1997 SESSION
SB 159 Uniform Statewide Building Code; construction code.
Introduced by: L. Louise Lucas | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Uniform Statewide Building Code; construction code. Requires the Board of Housing and Community Development to adopt a construction code for the renovation of existing buildings. The construction code would be administered at the option of the owner of the building and upon the payment of a fee as determined by the Board in lieu of Building Code provisions applicable to new construction. The bill provides, however, that the replacement or repair of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in existing buildings be subject to Code provisions governing new construction. The construction code would assist owners in the preservation of the historical integrity of their building.
