SB 1182 Unemployment compensation; responsibility for benefit charges.

Introduced by: John S. Edwards | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Unemployment compensation; responsibility for benefit charges. Establishes an alternative method for determining employer responsibility for payment of unemployment compensation benefits. Under the current law, an otherwise eligible employee's unemployment benefits are charged to an employer after the employee has worked for that employer for 30 days. This bill provides that an employer is also responsible for unemployment benefits after an otherwise eligible employee has completed 240 hours of work for that employer.
