SUMMARY:
On-farm sales of agricultural products. Exempts the production and sale of agricultural products that are sold on the premises of a farm directly to the consumer from the following provisions of Title 3.1 (Agriculture): Chapter 20 (Food and Drink Generally); Chapter 21 (Milk, Milk Products and Dairies); and Article 4.1 of Chapter 30 (Virginia Meat and Poultry Products Inspection Act). The bill also adds a provision that operations engaging in such production and sale are not prevented from being considered nuisances by the Right to Farm Act. This bill is identical to SB 1056.
