SB 1133 Elections; simulated elections for minors.

Introduced by: Stanley C. Walker | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Elections; simulated elections for minors. Authorizes the local electoral board to approve a program to allow simulated elections for minors at one or more polling places during official elections and provides that the chief officer of election for the polling place will have authority over; but not be responsible for administering, simulated election-related activities. Establishing mock elections is part of a program known as "Kids Voting USA Network," which combines classroom voter education and simulated elections to educate children about the importance of an informed electorate and of voting. The Kids Voting USA Network operated simulated elections in a number of Virginia localities and in a number of other states at the 1996 presidential election.
