SB 1078 Health insurance for state employees.
Introduced by: Patricia S. Ticer | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Group accident and sickness coverage; individual accident and sickness insurance policies, life insurance policies; health and related insurance for state employees; coverage of domestic partners. Allows health insurance policies to provide coverage for domestic partners. A domestic partner is defined as any person who shares a familial relationship with another person characterized by mutual caring and the sharing of a mutual residence. The provisions of this bill allow coverage for domestic partners in group health insurance plans, small employer markets, individual health insurance plans, the health insurance plan provided for state employees, and group life insurance plans. Group life insurance plans are included because group health and group life insurance coverages are often issued as a "package."
