SUMMARY:
Stephen J. Wright Scholars Program. Renames and establishes the Graduate Student Recruitment Program and the Southern Regional Education Board Minority Doctoral Program, existing only in the appropriation act, as the Stephen J. Wright Scholars Program to foster scholarship among Virginia's graduate students and to retain such outstanding scholars in the Commonwealth. This program is established in honor of the late Dr. Stephen J. Wright, a noted and esteemed educator and gentleman, and distinguished former chairman of the State Council of Higher Education. This measure is identical to HB 2914.
