SUMMARY:

Virginia Veterans Care Center. Clarifies the role of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Director of the Center with regard to the management, control, maintenance, and operation of the Virginia Veterans' Care Center. Without changing the current number of members on the Board, the bill also requires the Governor to make two of his five Board appointments from a list of names submitted to him by the veterans' organizations in Virginia. The bill also provides an exception to the prohibition against service by legislators on boards and commissions within the executive branch.
