1997 SESSION
SB 1017 Professional use of drugs by practitioners.
Introduced by: L. Louise Lucas | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Professional use of drugs by practitioners. Authorizes licensed pharmacists to administer vaccines to adults for immunization when a practitioner with prescriptive authority is not physically present. The vaccines must be administered according to a protocol approved by the Board of Nursing. Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses under the immediate and direct supervision of registered nurses already have this authority. This bill also clarifies the term "practitioner" by replacing it with the word "prescriber" in numerous places.
