SB 1005 Proceedings of Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission confidentiality.
Introduced by: Kenneth W. Stolle | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Proceedings of the Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission; confidentiality. Removes the confidentiality surrounding the filing of a complaint with the Commission and the identity of the subject judge while keeping the hearings of the Commission closed. The bill also requires the Commission to advise the complainant and the public of the outcome of a complaint and requires the Commission to publish annual reports giving statistical information relative to the number of complaints received and disposed of by the Commission. Information regarding the misconduct of a judge is to be made available to all members of the General Assembly, not just to the courts committees.
