SUMMARY:
Study; traumatic brain injury among certain populations. Requests the Commission on the Coordination of the Delivery of Services to Persons with Physical and Sensory Disabilities, in conjunction with the Department of Rehabilitative Services; the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services; and the Virginia State Crime Commission, to study the prevalence of head injury among persons in mental and correctional institutions. The agencies are requested to work collaboratively to determine the incidence of traumatic brain injury and the severity of such injuries among persons in mental and correctional institutions and the fiscal and public policy implications.
