SUMMARY:

Study; educational needs of underserved gifted students. Continues the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Educational Needs of Certain Underserved Gifted Students. The joint subcommittee is requested to continue its examination of the objectives enumerated in HJR 90 (1996), the enabling legislation, and, among other things, to review and assess the governing structure for gifted education; ascertain the status and needs of gifted education programs and gifted underserved students by school division; examine the use of testing and other assessments to identify underserved gifted students; and identify and evaluate the economic and regulatory barriers to such students' access to gifted education programs.
