SUMMARY:
Study; de novo appeals; juvenile courts. Creates a seven-member joint subcommittee to study alternative appellate processes in civil matters heard in the juvenile courts, particularly in cases involving custody, abuse and neglect, termination of parental rights, visitation and support. This matter was referred by letter from the Speaker to the House Courts Committee for study. The Senate Courts Committee will be invited to participate in the study.
