SUMMARY:
Judicial Nominations Commission. Creates a 15-member Judicial Nominations Commission, composed of lawyers from each congressional district and four citizens from the state at large, each to be elected to a four-year term by the General Assembly. The Commission will assist the General Assembly in making its determinations on judicial elections. The Commission is to submit to the General Assembly a confidential report and the names of no more than three persons for each vacancy on any court.
The Division of Legislative Services will provide staff for the Commission.
