SUMMARY:
Labor; day of rest. Provides employees who work (i) on call and (ii) without an assigned duty time or days off, and who were previously exempt from the "day of rest" laws, with the right to have at least one day of rest in each week. Categories of employees included in the exempt category are those engaged in transportation, public services and utilities, agriculture, and medical services. Employees who meet these criteria are entitled to designate either Saturday or Sunday as their day of rest.
