SUMMARY:

Programs for impaired practitioners. Authorizes the Board of Medicine to establish, through contracts with nonprofit corporations or professional organizations, programs for impaired practitioners among those professions regulated by the Board. The contracts will include such components as treatment, evaluation of reports of suspected impairment, intervention, monitoring of rehabilitated impaired practitioners, etc. These programs will be funded by a surcharge on all licenses and certificates issued by the Board of Medicine.
