SUMMARY:
Firearms purchases. Requires that prior to the sale of a firearm, the dealer must obtain proof from the purchaser that the purchaser has received firearms training within the preceding two years, is covered by a liability insurance policy and has a trigger lock available for any handgun purchased. A purchaser who makes a materially false statement on the application with regard to these requirements is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor and a dealer who fails to obtain the proof required is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.
