HB 2662 Concealed handgun permits; local ordinances regulating gun sales.
Introduced by: Jay Katzen | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Concealed handgun permits; local ordinances regulating gun sales. Reverses application of the law allowing a locality to adopt an ordinance regulating the sale and possession of firearms. The bill also repeals the law enabling a locality to regulate handgun sales and requires the custodian of any records of handgun sales to destroy such records within 30 days of the enactment of the section.
The bill also extends the length of a concealed handgun permit to five years from two years and makes the appearance of the permittee's social security number optional with the permittee; requires the clerk of court to sign the permit rather than the judge; and repeals the subsection which denies a permittee the right to carry his concealed handgun into a place or special event licensed to sell or serve alcohol.
