SUMMARY:
Fees assessed by circuit court clerks for information technology. Establishes the Task Force on Land Records Management to develop a plan to provide remote access to land records. Clerks of circuit court are required to provide a certification that the clerk's technology improvements will be compatible with a remote access system in accordance with the Task Force's report and JLARC recommendations. Funds will not be allocated from the Technology Trust Fund prior to May 1, 1998, except to pay for the conversion of documents to a digital format, the conversion of information into a format which will accommodate remote access, improvements for the law and chancery division of the clerk's office, and the costs of studies.
