HB 2501 Insurance; uninsured motorist coverage.
Introduced by: J. Randy Forbes | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Insurance; uninsured motorist coverage. Includes within the definition of "uninsured motor vehicle" a motor vehicle owned or operated by an individual immune from liability for negligence under state or federal law. The bill further provides that such immunity shall not be a bar to an insured claimant obtaining a judgment against his own insurer under the uninsured motorist provisions of his own insurance policy; the insurer may not raise this immunity as a defense to its insured's uninsured motorist claim.
