SUMMARY:

Uniform commercial code; letters of credit. Replaces current Title 8.5 with the revision approved by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws in 1995. The revisions are intended to update the law governing letters of credit following 40 years of usage of Title 8.5 and in recognition of changes in business practices, including the increased use of electronic media, standby letters of credit and deferred-payment letters of credit. The changes standardize current practice and harmonize recent conflicting case law.
