SUMMARY:
Income tax; tax credit for rent reductions. Allows landlords renting units to low-income tenants who resided in a domestic violence shelter or homeless shelter during the 12 months preceding the lease term to qualify for a tax credit. The tax credit is equal to 50 percent of the rent reductions allowed to such tenants. Currently, the credit is available only for rent reductions for low-income elderly or disabled tenants.
