SUMMARY:

Revisions to Standards of Accreditation. Provides that no revisions to the Standards of Accreditation for public schools shall be implemented prior to July 1, 1998. The current Standards of Accreditation, developed in 1992, are now under review by the Board of Education. Pursuant to the Standards of Quality, these accreditation standards include student outcome measures, requirements and guidelines for instructional programs, staffing levels, auxiliary programs such as library and media services, and graduation requirements, and the "philosophy, goals, and objectives of public education in Virginia."
