1997 SESSION
HB 2194 Taxation and licensing of daily rental vehicles.
Introduced by: William P. Robinson, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Taxation and licensing of daily rental vehicles. Changes the term "daily rental passenger cars" to "daily rental vehicles," which includes rental trucks. Currently, only motor vehicles used for transporting persons and having a gross vehicle weight of 9,000 pounds or less are subject to this classification. Daily rental vehicles are subject to the four percent local daily rental tax. The bill also exempts such vehicles from local license requirements and classifies them as merchants' capital for local tax purposes.
