1997 SESSION
HB 2121 Court-appointed special advocates; volunteers.
Introduced by: Vivian E. Watts | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
CASA volunteers. Requires DCJS regulations governing court-appointed special advocate programs to require each local program director who has obtained approval from the court in that jurisdiction to obtain a criminal background check on each advocate directly from the State Police and from the central registry of abuse complaints. Currently, the law authorizes CASA volunteers to obtain copies of their own records, without charge, but the process takes longer than direct access.
