SUMMARY:
Virginia School Efficiency Incentive Reward Program. Establishes the Virginia School Efficiency Incentive Reward Program to be administered by the Board of Education, and the Virginia School Efficiency Incentive Reward Fund, a special nonreverting fund within the Department of the Treasury. The Fund shall be disbursed to award incentive grants to public schools and school divisions meeting certain criteria established by the Board. The Department of the Treasury will administer and manage the Fund, subject to the authority of the Board of Education to provide for its disbursement.
Award criteria are to recognize exceptional and improved administrative efficiency, as evidenced in reduced administrative costs over a prescribed period or maintenance of administrative costs at specified "efficient" levels. Grants may be used for the reduction of pupil-to-teacher ratios and for the purchase and installation of technology improvements.
