SUMMARY:

Interference with voter registration; destruction of, or failure to mail or deliver, application. Makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person to agree to mail or deliver a registration application for another and to destroy, or fail to mail or deliver, the application with the intent to interfere with the applicant's effort to register to vote. The mailing or delivery of an application within 15 days of the date of the applicant's signature or in time for processing before an election, whichever happens first, will be deemed "timely" delivery. Government employees acting in an official capacity are exempt from the provisions of the bill.
