HB 1968 Uniform Anatomical Gift Act.

SUMMARY:

Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. Authorizes a document of gift to designate a physician or surgeon who specializes in organ procurement or transplantation or a federally designated organ procurement organization named in a memorandum of understanding with the hospital to carry out the appropriate procedures relating to the gift. This bill also states that a donor may specify a named individual to receive an anatomical gift if the gift does not discriminate against a person or class of persons on the basis of race, national origin, religion, gender, or similar characteristic.
