SUMMARY:
Involuntary commitment and temporary detention of mentally ill. Provides for the involuntary temporary detention and commitment of individuals experiencing a serious deterioration of their ability to care for themselves as evidenced by delusionary thinking or by a significant impairment of functioning, and are in need of involuntary hospitalization or compulsory treatment for a mental illness and are reasonably likely to benefit from the proposed course of treatment.
