SUMMARY:
Crimes; brandishing a firearm. Increases the penalties for brandishing a firearm in the following circumstances: (i) in such a manner as to induce fear in the mind of another of being shot or injured, from a Class 1 misdemeanor to a Class 6 felony; (ii) within a 1,000 feet of school property, from a Class 6 felony to a Class 5 felony; and (iii) in such a manner as to reasonably induce fear in the mind of a police officer who is in the performance of his duties of being shot or injured, from a Class 1 misdemeanor to a Class 5 felony.
