SUMMARY:
Assault of a law-enforcement officer. Increases the penalty for assault and assault and battery against a law-enforcement officer from a Class 1 misdemeanor with a six-month mandatory, minimum period of confinement in jail to a Class 6 felony with a one-year mandatory, minimum period of imprisonment.
