SUMMARY:

Pedestrians. Provides definitions of marked crosswalk, pedestrian, sidewalk, traffic control device, traffic control signal, and unmarked crosswalk; requires motorists to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians on sidewalks before driving on or over sidewalks; makes it reckless driving to overtake and pass another vehicle at an intersection where pedestrians are passing or about to pass in front of either vehicle; makes it reckless driving to overtake and pass another vehicle traveling in the same direction at a railroad crossing; requires pedestrians on highways where overhead walkways or pedestrian tunnels are provided, to yield the right-of-way to all vehicles when pedestrians cross on the highway rather than via the walkways or tunnels; requires pedestrians to use sidewalks when provided and to walk on the shoulder of the left side of the highway in the absence of sidewalks; and requires motorists to exercise due care to avoid colliding with pedestrians.
