SUMMARY:
Sale, etc., of electronic beepers; warnings required; penalty. Requires any sale or delivery of (i) a beeper or similar portable electronic communication device or (ii) a service contract to operate a beeper to include a written warning stating that it is unlawful to possess a beeper on school grounds. Failure to provide such a warning statement is a Class 3 misdemeanor, but the absence of the warning statement does not constitute a defense in any criminal prosecution for possession of a beeper on school grounds.
