HB 1731 State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.

Introduced by: Robert D. Orrock, Sr. | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board. Modifies the EMS Advisory Board's representation and term provisions. This bill clarifies that appointments are at the discretion of the Governor, that he may request additional nominees to ensure diversity in representation, and that members of the Advisory Board must be designated as serving as representatives of one of listed representative groups--a practice which is already informally implemented. No individual representing any one or more of the listed groups who has served as a member of the Advisory Board for two or more successive terms for any period or for six or more consecutive years can be nominated for appointment or appointed to the Advisory Board unless at least three consecutive years have elapsed since the individual has served on the Advisory Board. This provision is intended to ensure membership opportunities for the representative groups.
