HB 1319 Enterprise Zone Act.

Introduced by: Dwight Clinton Jones | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Enterprise Zone Act. Requires enterprise zones to conform to certain size requirements. The bill also allows local governing bodies to submit an application to the Department of Community and Housing Development to eliminate areas of an existing enterprise zone; currently, enterprise zones may only be expanded upon application. For any change in the boundaries of an enterprise zone, the local governing body must first hold a public hearing. For changes involving the elimination of area from a zone, the local governing body must notify each property owner and business firm within the zone of the change prior to the public hearing. Any boundary changes cannot impact the enterprise zone's ability to meet the required distress criteria and cannot involve more than ten percent of the total zone acreage.
