SUMMARY:
Jails; inmate work projects. Allows the boards of regional jail authorities and jail farms to enter directly, pursuant to regulations adopted by the Department of Corrections, into agreements for work projects with local, regional and state entities. The bill provides for payment of costs by the local, regional or state entities, bonds on persons other than acting as foremen, and the disbursement of any wages earned similar to the prioritized provisions found in other inmate work programs. The bill also provides authority for jail superintendent to provide security for such work projects.
