RESOLVED by the Senate, That the following persons are hereby nominated to be elected to the respective general distrct court judgeships as follows:

The Honorable Robert R. Carter, of Chesapeake, as a judge of the First Judicial District for a term of six years commencing March 1, 1997.

The Honorable Robert L. Simpson, Jr., of Virginia Beach, as a judge of the Second Judicial District for a term of six years commencing March 1, 1997.

The Honorable Archie Elliott, Jr., of Portsmouth, as a judge of the Third Judicial District for a term of six years commencing July 1, 1997.

The Honorable Stanley L. Morris, Jr., of Portsmouth, as a judge of the Third Judicial District for a term of six years commencing February 1, 1997.

The Honorable Gwendolyn J. Jackson, of Norfolk, as a judge of the Fourth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing March 1, 1997.

The Honorable John C. Baker, of Surry, as a judge of the Sixth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing May 1, 1997.

The Honorable William P. Hay, Jr., of Prince Edward, as a judge of the Tenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing February 1, 1997.

The Honorable Irvin D. Sugg, of South Boston, as a judge of the Tenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing April 16, 1997.

The Honorable Birdie H. Jamison, of Richmond, as a judge of the Thirteenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing December 1, 1997.

The Honorable Ralph B. Robertson, of Richmond, as a judge of the Thirteenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing March 1, 1997.

The Honorable Gregory L. Rupe, of Richmond, as a judge of the Thirteenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing February 1, 1997.

The Honorable William L. Wimbish, of Richmond, as a judge of the Thirteenth Judicial District for a term of six years commencing July 1, 1997.
