976042757WHEREAS, Emma B. Muller, the former long-time treasurer of the City of Bristol, died on February 10, 1997; and
WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Bristol, Emma Muller retired in 1996 after 29 years of distinguished service as treasurer; and
WHEREAS, an active member of the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, Emma Muller was also a Worthy Matron of the Bristol Chapter 28 of the Order of the Eastern Star; and
WHEREAS, an avid bowler, Emma Muller was a life member of the Tennessee Women's Bowling Association, which she served as secretary for many years; and
WHEREAS, Emma Muller was also a member of the Women's International Bowling Conference, which voted her into its Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, Emma Muller was a woman devoted to her family, her friends, her church, and the Bristol community she served for so long and so well; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a singularly valuable citizen of Bristol, Emma B. Muller; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Emma B. Muller as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
