WHEREAS, the 1996 boys' cross country team from Central High School, in the Shenandoah County town of Woodstock, was victorious in the Shenandoah County championship, the Shenandoah District championship, the Region B championship, and the crowning achievement, the state Group A championship; and

WHEREAS, the team was coached by Joseph Huddle (Group A Coach of the Year), a 1980 Central High graduate who earned his college degree at Roanoke College, then returned to Central High School as a teacher of mathematics and cross country coach; and

WHEREAS, led by championship runners Tim Cline, Matthew DiNardo, Timmy Dlugasch, Damon Harper, Kirk Kirkland, Bryce Long, Jason Long (Group A individual champion), Jason Neal, and Tony Scott, the Central High team proudly represented the Shenandoah Valley in the state championships and brought home the title for the fourth consecutive year; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate the members of the boys' cross country team from Central High School for their extraordinary 1996 season; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Coach Joseph Huddle in honor of the Central High School boys' cross country champions.
