961757120Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 2.1-1.6 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted and that the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 10.1-409.1 as follows:
§ 2.1-1.6. State boards.
A. There shall be, in addition to such others as may be established by law, the following permanent collegial bodies affiliated with a state agency within the executive branch:

B. Notwithstanding the definition for "board" as provided in § 2.1-1.2, the following entities shall be referred to as boards:

§ 10.1-409.1. Big Walker Creek State Scenic River; Department of Conservation and Recreation designated to administer.
A. The Big Walker Creek in Giles County, from the Bland County line to the Big Walker Creek's junction with the New River, a distance of approximately thirty-five and one-half miles, is hereby designated a component of the Virginia Scenic River System.
B. The Department of Conservation and Recreation is designated to administer the Big Walker Creek Scenic River.
C. The Governor, in consultation with the Director of the Giles County Board of Supervisors, shall appoint the Big Walker Creek State Scenic River Advisory Board, which shall be composed of five area residents, including at least one riparian landowner from within the designated section.
