Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 38.2-613:01 as follows:

§ 38.2-613:01. Disclosure of medical test results to insurance applicants.

Whenever an insurer requires an applicant for life or accident and sickness insurance coverage or for modifications to existing coverage to take an HIV-related test [ or a test for any other infectious disease, insurers the insurer ] shall advise such [ applicants, or their designees, applicant ] of the results of such tests within [ five ten ] business days of the insurer's receipt thereof.
