Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-260.1 as follows:

§ 18.2-260.1. Falsifying or destroying patient records.

If a health care provider, or any person who administers prescription medication to another, fraudulently makes a false entry in, or erases, alters, secretes, or destroys any patient record, he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
