HOUSE BILL NO. 2193 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee for Courts of Justice on February 1, 1997) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Dillard) A BILL to amend and reenact the second enactment of Chapter 799 of the 1988 Acts of Assembly, as amended by Chapter 565 of the 1990 Acts of Assembly and Chapter 593 of the 1993 Acts of Assemby, relating to small claims divisions in the general district courts.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the second enactment of Chapter 799 of the 1988 Acts of Assembly, as amended by Chapter 565 of the 1990 Acts of Assembly and Chapter 593 of the 1993 Acts of Assembly, is amended and reenacted as follows:

2. That the provisions of this act shall become effective October 1, 1988, and shall expire on July 1, 1998.

2. That any small claims court created prior to July 1, 1997, shall continue in effect.
