Whereas, Jeff L. Sims is a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and

Whereas, as a result of the failure of the Virginia Retirement System to notify Mr. Sims of his options, he suffered a loss of $350,000; and

Whereas, Jeff L. Sims has no other means of relief except by action of this body; now, therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That there is hereby allocated from the general fund appropriation to the Virginia Retirement System the sum of $350,000 for the relief of Jeff L. Sims. This sum shall be paid by check issued by the State Treasurer on a warrant issued by the Comptroller, upon execution by Jeff L. Sims of a release of all claims he may have against the Commonwealth or any of its political subdivisions or their officers, employees, or agents.
