CHAPTER 534 An Act to amend and reenact § 15.1-29.11 of the Code of Virginia, relating to display of address numbers. [H 1739] Approved March 19, 1997

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 15.1-29.11 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 15.1-29.11. Numbers to be displayed on buildings.

The governing body of any county, city or town may, by ordinance, require that each building that fronts on a public right-of-way be numbered and such number be displayed on the primary or accompanying building or in a manner that is easily readable from the public right-of-way. Any county, city or town may adopt such rules or procedures necessary to ensure the compliance and enforcement of this section and the ordinance.
