SUMMARY:
Study; tangible personal property tax. Directs the Revenue Resources Subcommittee of the Senate Finance Committee to study the advisability of reducing or eliminating the tangible personal property tax in the Commonwealth. The Subcommittee is charged with examining the fairness of the current system of local taxation of tangible personal property. It will also examine the effects of adopting any alternative sources of revenue to offset losses in local revenues resulting from the reduction or elimination of local taxation of tangible personal property.
