SJ 113 High academic standards required of students.

Introduced by: Benjamin J. Lambert III | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

High academic standards. Expresses the sense of the General Assembly that high academic standards be required of all students. This resolution requests that attention be focused on remediating the academic deficiencies of students before they graduate, the provision of appropriate prevention and interventions, support services to at-risk students to assist them in achieving academic success, and the elimination of the dual diploma and tracking. It is in the best interests of the Commonwealth that students be prepared for work with marketable skills or perform college level work successfully.

This resolution is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Status of and Need for Academic Preparation, Financial Assistance, and Incentive Programs to Encourage Minorities to Pursue Postsecondary Education and Training.
