SUMMARY:
Claims; Brooks, Barry. Provides $109,500 in relief to Barry Brooks for damages sustained and expenses incurred during the two years he was wrongfully imprisoned. Mr. Brooks was convicted by the Greensville County Circuit Court of making a false statement in connection with the purchase of a firearm. The Court of Appeals overturned the conviction on grounds that Mr. Brooks' statement did not constitute a crime.
