SUMMARY:
Sales and use tax exemption; nonprofit community and service organizations. Grants a sales and use tax exemption to any nonprofit volunteer organization organized for the purpose of providing support services (including operating an information clearinghouse, staffing a volunteer telephone hotline, providing speakers and literature, and coordinating Al-Anon public service activities) at no cost to Al-Anon family groups and to families and friends of alcoholics within the Commonwealth. Al-Anon Service Center of Northern Virginia would be among the beneficiaries of the exemption, which applies to both purchases and sales of tangible personal property.
